The Youth University (YU) awards credits to young people aged from 14 to 19 who attend activities outside the normal school hours. The YU is part of the Children’s University (CU) in Wales.

Youth University Awards
Awards are based on the amount of time young people spend on activities. Specific Aqautic modules have been written to accredit your time. Each hour gains one credit and added together go towards the following awards:
150 credits = Bronze Award
350 credits = Silver Award
600 credits = Gold Award

Young Officials (aged 14-17) Development
Residential Programme
2010
The aim of the project is to bring together a group of 12 young volunteers (aged 14-17) to become involved in the officiating pathway. These young people will be selected from across Wales and will have an interest in becoming a qualified official and participate in national, regional and club events.
Swim Wales will host 3 camps during 2010 to support this process as follows:
- Camp 1 – 2nd – 8th August – Summer Nationals
- Camp 2 – 18th – 21st November – Winter & Schools Championship
- Camp 3 – 3rd– 5th December – Disability Meet
